About the Foundation Year
Our four-year degree programs (including a foundation year) offer an alternative pathway to university-level education if you don't meet traditional entry requirements. This program allows you to begin with a foundation year as a stepping stone toward achieving Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
The Foundation Year will develop your presentation confidence, enhance your writing and math abilities, and provide a comprehensive introduction to educational sociology.
Please be aware that progression to the full undergraduate program requires successful completion of an interview process, along with obtaining a DBS check and meeting fitness-to-teach requirements.
Career Prospects
St Mary's graduates consistently secure teaching positions after completing their studies. Many find employment within our partner schools, where they inspire and guide future St Mary's students. Some alumni choose to further their education by pursuing one of our master's degrees in education.
