Advance your career in electronics through this professionally accredited program, blending hands-on challenges, top-tier facilities, and instruction from industry experts and academic leaders.
This foundation year provides perfect preparation for degree-level studies. After successful completion, you can advance to the three-year BEng (Hons) Electronic Engineering program.
The curriculum spans a wide range, from analogue and digital electronics to modern embedded systems, signal processing technologies, and contemporary communications. Graduates can pursue careers in R&D, maintenance engineering, electronic design, telecommunications, and beyond.
During the first year of the degree, students build strong fundamentals in mathematics and circuitry before mastering analogue, digital, and microcomputer systems. The second half focuses on industry software, essential professional skills, and manufacturing methods.
These skills create a robust foundation for years two and three, where students explore embedded systems and advanced data communications, conduct independent research, and complete a significant practical project.
This program is available as standard full-time study or as a one-day-per-week part-time option for professionals seeking continuing professional development (CPD) while employed.
This course is affiliated with the South Coast Institute of Technology (IoT), a collaboration between colleges, universities, and leading employers to foster tech sector careers. IoT programs like this are specifically designed to meet employer demands in maritime, engineering, and digital industries – sectors actively seeking skilled engineers, technologists, technicians, and creative professionals.
