Leveraging SOAS's distinctive strengths, including its proficiency in development economics, interdisciplinary environmental approach, and regional expertise in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, this program offers a specialized focus in one of economics' fastest-growing fields.
The intersection of development and environmental impact, along with resource accessibility, represents one of the most pressing disciplines that has emerged in recent decades and now stands as a central academic focus. At SOAS, we adopt a comprehensive view of environmental studies, with course offerings spanning diverse areas like natural resources, agriculture, economic development, finance, and region-specific studies.
All enrolled students must complete a mandatory introductory course in Mathematics and Statistics before commencing this program.
