The BA History of Art (combined degree) offers a unique chance to explore visual arts, architecture, and material culture across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Our Department of History of Art and Archaeology boasts globally renowned specialists in these fields, whose cutting-edge research directly shapes their teaching. During your first year, you'll explore foundational art and archaeology from various regions while gaining essential theoretical and methodological skills for studying non-Western art. As you progress, you'll expand your expertise with opportunities to focus on specific areas or topics. The program strongly emphasizes visual analysis skills through intensive study of artworks and artifacts. Additionally, you'll receive a comprehensive overview of the creative and cultural sectors. Depending on your chosen pathway, this dual-subject program can be completed in either three years or four years with an international study component.
