Having already achieved A-level proficiency in classical Latin, you're now ready to refine your mastery of ancient Rome's language and literature. Royal Holloway stands among just five UK universities offering this program, where you'll explore diverse non-linguistic disciplines such as: classical archaeology, ancient philosophy, ancient history, and translated classical literature.
This program dedicates half its curriculum to analyzing original Latin texts, pushing your language abilities beyond advanced levels. Across three years, you'll transform into an expert in Roman language and literature, with optional Greek studies. The remaining coursework covers classical subjects, expanding your understanding of Roman politics, economics, and gender studies.
