This Mechanical and Electrical Engineering MEng program at Robert Gordon University equips you with expertise to develop safer, more cost-effective, and higher-performing machines and systems that positively impact society. Industry increasingly seeks engineers with comprehensive skills spanning both mechanical and electrical fields, and this program prepares you to meet those professional demands.
Mechanical engineers typically engage in designing, building, and maintaining machinery, structures, and industrial equipment across diverse sectors. Electrical engineering focuses on power generation and distribution technologies, including electrical motors, renewable energy projects, and sustainable engineering solutions.
The initial two years follow a shared curriculum with our Mechanical Engineering programs. After completing Year 2, you'll have the knowledge to choose your preferred specialization path.

SQA Higher: BBBC to include Maths and either Engineering Science, Physics or Technological Studies. English at National 5 grade C or above is required if not held at Higher.
GCE A Level: BCC to include Mathematics at grade B plus either Physics, Design Technology or Engineering. GCSE English at grade 5/C or above is required if not held at A Level.
Irish Leaving Certificate Higher: H2H3H3H3 to include Maths and either Physics or Technological Studies. English at grade O3 or above is required if not held at Higher.
IB Diploma: 27 to include Higher Level Maths and Physics at grade 5. English is required at a minimum of Standard Level grade 4.
