Electrical and electronic engineering stands as one of the most expansive engineering fields, leveraging advanced technologies to tackle key challenges in today's world. The need for qualified graduates continues to rise across sectors like consumer electronics, renewable energy, transportation, medical technology, and telecommunications. The initial two years establish core competencies in mathematics, computing, analog and digital circuits, communication systems, electromagnetics, power electronics, and control systems. During the third year, students complete an independent research project and select from various specialized courses, allowing focus areas ranging from power systems to wireless communications.
The BEng program offers partial accreditation toward becoming a Chartered Engineer. The curriculum's first two years align with the MEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, with potential transfers available through year two based on academic achievement. Strong industry partnerships ensure outstanding career opportunities, with recent graduates securing positions at leading firms like Intel, BBC, Dyson, Jaguar Land Rover, Siemens, HP, EDF Energy, and numerous other major employers.
