You'll join an expanding doctoral research community, studying alongside peers from Northern Ireland and around the world. Our research supervision covers: Cultural policy design and implementation, including how arts administrators and policymakers interpret these processes, The intersection between social policy domains and cultural policy, Institutional frameworks shaping cultural production, Strategies for arts accessibility, participation, and audience growth. The School encourages research proposals employing empirical or theoretical frameworks, with particular interest in action-research, practice-based methodologies, and approaches involving stakeholders through inclusive, collaborative models. We strongly advocate for interdisciplinary perspectives that examine culture, policy, and management as evolving social and historical phenomena.
