Queen's Architecture program explores how architecture and urban design navigate an increasingly interconnected world, tackling challenges like sustainability, climate action, cultural identity, heritage preservation, and artistic craftsmanship. The program equally emphasizes scholarly research and practical application. We support full-time and part-time PhD candidates conducting in-depth studies of cultural, historical, and technological influences in Ireland and worldwide. For design professionals, we offer part-time MPhil and PhD options to expand their creative practice. Our research-through-design approach generates insights not just by examining existing conditions, but by capturing innovative processes, behaviors, and scenarios uncovered through advanced design methodologies. In all our work, architecture serves as both an analytical tool and a benchmark for evaluating urban, suburban, and rural environments.
