Our PhD programs enable students to conduct extensive research within disciplines connected to the School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment. During the application phase, you'll need to provide a research proposal, and we'll help align your research focus, goals, and parameters with an appropriate academic supervisor from our diverse faculty.
We recommend contacting potential supervisors to explore your research interests, or reaching out to the Director of Doctoral Programs, Dr. Ana Souto, who can connect you with specialized supervisors in your chosen field. You'll become part of a vibrant postgraduate research community at our City Campus. Our PhD options cater to working professionals, offering both part-time and full-time study modes to balance research with career commitments. Study duration varies based on your research time investment, with full-time candidates having up to four years and part-time candidates up to eight years to complete their studies.
These PhD pathways also welcome exceptional undergraduate degree holders, providing a direct transition from bachelor's studies to advanced research. This creates substantial career advancement possibilities and serves as a gateway to academic employment opportunities.
