The Philosophy Department boasts a globally recognized standing for cutting-edge research spanning diverse specialized fields. Key areas of expertise encompass: Applied Ethics, 19th Century European Thought, Moral Philosophy, Philosophy of Science, Theory of Knowledge, Political Philosophy, and Philosophy of Religion. Faculty members have published groundbreaking work in these disciplines, with significant research initiatives currently underway. Graduate students receive guidance from prominent scholars in their respective fields and are actively involved in the School's dynamic research community through events, workshops, reading circles, and academic conferences.
Our School maintains a distinctly international perspective, evidenced by our extensive network of global collaborators and the multicultural composition of both faculty and student populations. Throughout the academic year, we welcome international scholars and guest speakers, exposing students to a broad spectrum of worldwide research topics and discussions.
This program is designed to cultivate independent research scholars. From the beginning, students are supported in presenting their work at academic gatherings and publishing in prestigious venues. The program concludes with the submission of an 80,000-word doctoral thesis.
