This Master of Arts program builds upon the foundation created by the late Sir Roger Scruton at The University of Buckingham. This London-based course spans one year, featuring ten evening seminars and independent research work.
Sir Roger Scruton strongly opposed contemporary academic philosophy's tendency to prioritize linguistic analysis and detailed examinations over confronting core philosophical issues and developing philosophical thinking skills. When designing this program, Scruton emphasized that true philosophical learning occurs through active practice - specifically through philosophical discussion, which forms the essence of these seminars.
