Chemical Engineering focuses on creating and managing systems that transform raw materials and energy into valuable everyday products. It examines small-scale processes and scales them up for manufacturing items like pharmaceuticals, food products, energy solutions, polymers, lubricants, fuels, semiconductors, batteries, and protective coatings. Chemical Engineers utilize applied sciences, engineering principles, technology, financial strategies, and management skills to not only develop material conversion methods but also to build, run, and oversee facilities in a cost-effective, ethical, and sustainable manner. The field intersects with mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering, as well as business and entrepreneurship studies.
High-achieving students can pursue four-year MEng or five-year MEng (with a Year in Industry) programs designed for those aiming to excel in advanced Chemical Engineering studies.
