Our comprehensive chemical engineering program begins with a preparatory year to equip you for university-level education.

This enhanced chemical engineering degree provides the expertise and competencies needed for a rewarding career in professional engineering. The curriculum addresses key growth sectors such as engineering principles, particle science, pharmaceutical innovation, and biomedical engineering.

Since the program incorporates an additional preparatory year, we accept applicants with slightly lower entry requirements compared to our conventional BEng degree.

Graduates from our chemical engineering program frequently pursue careers in diverse sectors including process engineering, pharmaceutical development, and food and drink manufacturing.

Qualification Requirements

Typical Offer: 64 Points

Qualifications: three A-levels/Extended Diploma/combination of A-level and Diploma/A-levels and Extended Certificate
And must include one of the following:

A level: 16 Points from mathematics and a physical science or a numerate subject.

BTEC National: Extended Diploma in Engineering, requiring: Calculus to Solve Engineering Problems (Unit 7) and/or Further Engineering Mathematics (Unit 8), or a related subject/unit.

A level and BTEC National: Diploma/Extended Certificate in Engineering and 16 Points from A-level mathematics if Units 7 and/or 8 are not included.

A level and BTEC National: Diploma/Extended Certificate in Applied Science and 16 Points from A-level mathematics.

International Baccalaureate: requiring Higher Level Maths or Physics grade 3 and Standard Level English grade 4.

Access to Higher Education Diploma: Engineering/Engineering Science.

Plus GCSEs in English language and mathematics at grade 4 or above (grade C or above under the A*-G system), and one GCSE science subject at Grade C or above under the A*-G system. We also accept equivalent qualifications at Level 2, such as Functional Skills in Mathematics and English.

We will also consider:

AS-levels along with A2-levels.
Alternative qualifications at Level 3, such as OCR Cambridge Technicals, AQA Tech-level, and Access to Engineering.
Appropriate qualifications such as an HNC, HND or Foundation Degree, with which you may be able to enter this degree in Year 2.
IELTS 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component
