The Public History MA program at Queen's University Belfast explores how historical understanding is created, shared, interpreted, and engaged with in public settings, particularly in an area where history remains deeply significant. Queen's strong connections with diverse partners nationwide - including cultural institutions, heritage groups, media outlets, and community projects - offer exceptional access to observe and participate in history's various applications. Through hands-on workshops, expert talks, site visits, special events, and a month-long placement, collaborating organizations help deliver the program, giving students direct exposure to the real-world complexities, obstacles, and possibilities encountered by public history professionals.
