This three-year undergraduate program combines academic learning with hands-on experience, equipping students to become exceptional professionals in Children & Young People's Nursing. The course commences in September 2024.
Participants will divide their time equally between university-based instruction on cutting-edge nursing concepts and clinical techniques, and practical placements with our renowned healthcare partners across diverse clinical and community environments in Northern Ireland.
Our expert faculty members maintain active involvement in specialized practice areas. The program's acclaimed personal tutor support system contributed to our recognition with the Best Student Experience honor at the 2021 Student Nursing Times Awards.
As Northern Ireland's sole provider of Children's & Young People's Nursing education, Queen's University Belfast delivers comprehensive training covering general and specialized care from infancy through adolescence (up to age 19) and into early adulthood. These nurses play a distinctive role in supporting children, adolescents, and families across various healthcare settings, including transitions to adult services. Their specialized expertise encompasses developmental knowledge, anatomical understanding, physiological processes, and nursing interventions, while also addressing chronic conditions, developmental disabilities, and mental health challenges in young patients.
