History illuminates today's world by tracing concepts such as gender, race, class, faith, governance, imperialism, and economic systems through the ages. Our scholars delve into eras spanning the Roman Empire, Medieval times, the Renaissance, the Reformation, and major modern upheavals throughout Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia to contextualize contemporary existence. Starting in their inaugural year, we empower students to curate their own academic journey, exploring diverse historical narratives to comprehend our collective origins. From day one, you'll learn in intimate seminars led by distinguished historians. Our chronological breadth, global perspective, commitment to student autonomy, and emphasis on small-group instruction from the outset distinguish our program among comparable institutions. According to the Cervantes Institute, Spanish boasts 483 million native speakers. Combining History with Spanish enables students to examine multifaceted literary, historical, social, cultural, and linguistic dimensions of Spanish-speaking societies worldwide. All participants engage with Spanish language modules designed around practical communication, exploring current Hispanic cultural themes through authentic resources. This four-year program incorporates an international study component.
