The School of Physical and Chemical Sciences at QMUL ranks among the UK's top-tier research institutions, as recognized by the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF), the nationwide evaluation of academic research. We host a vibrant, interdisciplinary research environment where our faculty pursue diverse investigations spanning the spectrum of Chemical and Psychological sciences. Our Chemistry PhD program provides candidates with opportunities to undertake research across various disciplines. Current PhD openings are listed on our website, and prospective students are welcome to reach out to potential supervisors to explore research possibilities in their fields of interest. Requirements for each PhD project vary but generally, we are looking for applicants who hold, or expect to receive: A first or upper second-class honours degree in a relevant subject area. If your qualifications are not from a UK university, QMUL also considers recognised equivalent qualifications from accredited overseas institutions and equivalent professional qualifications. A masters qualification is desirable but not always essential. Relevant experience within the field may also be taken into account. IELTS Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall, with a 6.0 in all categories. TOEFL minimum score 92 overall with 21 in Writing, 19 in Reading, 18 in Listening and 21 in Speaking.
