The Barts Cancer Institute comprises six specialized research centers focused on translational research in specific cancer types. As a leader in numerous scientific and medical breakthroughs, it stands as one of the UK's largest institutions of its kind. Research activities are organized into these key centers: Centre for Biomarkers & Biotherapeutics, Centre for Cancer Cell & Molecular Biology, Centre for Cancer Genomics & Computational Biology, Centre for Haemato-Oncology, Centre for Tumour Biology, Centre for Tumour Microenvironment, and Centre for Experimental Cancer Medicine. Commonly referred to as BCI, the institute supports over 100 research students pursuing PhD or MD Res degrees through original research projects at the Charterhouse Square campus laboratories. Various funding options exist, including research grants, institutional studentships, and international scholarships. For current opportunities, visit the BCI postgraduate studies website. Prospective students with secured funding or those exploring external funding options should reach out to Dr. Sarah-Anne Martin, Director of Graduate Studies, submitting their CV and research proposal for personalized guidance.
