This program addresses the growing global demand for forensic professionals capable of applying rigorous scientific methods to their work while maintaining a comprehensive grasp of forensic medicine's interconnected fields. Through five specialized modules, students acquire both theoretical foundations and hands-on expertise in forensic medical sciences, developing the ability to analyze and assess forensic evidence with a critical eye.
Participants will explore the intersection of science and forensics through diverse specialized subjects, complemented by research opportunities in focused areas. The curriculum emphasizes critical analysis of forensic medical evidence, with practical components including forensic pathology studies, mortuary visits for autopsy observation, court attendance, and training in injury interpretation and legal case preparation. Clinical forensic medicine components examine how specialists evaluate individuals in custody, assault survivors, and victims of torture. Additional course content covers substance abuse detection, toxicology analysis, and identification techniques for both individual cases and mass disaster scenarios using DNA, dental records, and other methodologies. Career Development: Graduates will gain specialized competencies to advance in forensic medicine-related professions.
Students need to have a 2:2 or above at undergraduate level in a Life Sciences subject. IELTS (Academic) minimum score 6.5 overall with 6.0 in each of Writing, Listening, Reading and Speaking; TOEFL minimum score 92 overall with 21 in Writing, 19 in Reading, 18 in Listening and 21 in Speaking.
