Our iBSc in Global Medical Humanities explores fundamental issues while shedding light on the underlying assumptions, societal values, and political perspectives embedded in medical practice and healthcare systems. Offered through the Department of Comparative Literature and Culture, this program provides an international viewpoint on crucial medical discussions (such as pandemic response, organ transplantation, crisis management, psychological wellbeing, and accessibility) within diverse cultural frameworks. The Global Medical Humanities curriculum analyzes worldwide creative works (encompassing literature, documentaries, cinema, and artwork) that prompt us to reconsider concepts of wellness, treatment, danger, and fragility. Students will critically examine the intricate connections between medical systems and pressing societal challenges including equity gaps, fundamental freedoms, ecological emergencies, and moral dilemmas.
