If you hold a degree and preferably have experience working with youth, this program is designed for you. Whether you aim to achieve (JNC) Professional Recognition as a Youth Worker, earn a postgraduate Masters qualification, or both, this course offers the chance to study while gaining practical experience in Children and Young People Services across various settings—empowering you to shape your career path as you choose.
The National Youth Agency has approved and endorsed this program. The Masters degree features two distinct pathways: Work-Based Practice (non-endorsed pathway) - This option focuses on critically evaluating practice while integrating key module themes, allowing you to apply sociological perspectives to real-world challenges in professional contexts. Supervised Practice (JNC-endorsed pathway) - Here, your work will be evaluated against the Youth Work National Occupational Standards (NOS 2019), requiring at least 400 hours of professional placement. Completing this pathway qualifies you for JNC-recognized Youth Work positions nationwide.
Covering diverse social, educational, and informal learning approaches, this course aligns with the Youth Work National Occupational Standards (2019). It's perfect for those passionate about youth studies, particularly individuals pursuing careers in Youth Work or related fields. Our strong partnerships with statutory and independent sector employers ensure the curriculum remains focused on youth support while preparing you for professional practice upon graduation.
