Discover the captivating world of animal biology and the scientific foundations behind this extensive field of study. This program provides comprehensive knowledge about animal sciences through lectures covering essential principles like anatomy, physiology, behavior, genetics, ecology, and nutrition. Special emphasis is placed on companion animals and livestock. Hands-on experience complements theoretical learning in our specialized animal handling facilities. We provide four distinct animal science degree options: BSc (Hons) Animal Biology (this program) - concentrates on domesticated species including pets, working animals, and farm animals. BSc (Hons) Zoo Biology - specializes in zoo-kept animals and exotic species. BSc (Hons) Zoology - examines various invertebrate and vertebrate species, exploring their biology, evolution, classification, and identification. FdSc Animal Science - offers a more practical approach with stronger focus on applied skills. Students will implement these scientific concepts across different scenarios, particularly in animal welfare, breeding, and management practices. The curriculum emphasizes companion animals and livestock, including their care, housing, and dietary needs.
