This two-year Master's program enables graduates from any discipline to enhance their caregiving experience while earning NMC Registration. Designed to meet the latest NMC standards, the course prepares you for accelerated career advancement in mental health nursing, complemented by the advanced skills you'll gain as a Northumbria postgraduate.

Your studies will be split between our Coach Lane Campus and practical placements, with both components running concurrently to provide a cohesive blend of theory and practice. Following the standard academic calendar, you'll have Easter and summer breaks available for extra projects, internships, or much-needed downtime.

Qualification Requirements

A minimum of a 2:2 honours degree or equivalent in any subject, and GCSEs at Grade 4 (Grade C) or above in English Language and Mathematics. Other subject qualifications, equivalent professional qualifications and/or relevant work experience will be considered on an individual basis.
International applicants are required to have a minimum overall IELTS (Academic) score of 7.0 with a minimum of 6.5 in the writing component and at least 7 in each other component
