The four-year Doctor of Medicine (MD4) program is designed for students who have finished an undergraduate science-focused degree. Your first year of foundational sciences will be in Newcastle, followed by second-year basic sciences training at SGU's True Blue campus in Grenada. Students meeting the requirements will receive a Bachelor of Medical Sciences (BMedSci) from Northumbria University after completing the second year. You can then pursue up to two years of clinical rotations in either the US or UK, depending on visa regulations. Successful program completion leads to the Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree.
The SGUNU International Medical Pathway builds medical knowledge, clinical abilities, and research expertise while exposing students to diverse healthcare systems. This prepares graduates for global medical practice across all specialties. The Newcastle-based programs mirror Grenada's curriculum while offering a distinct healthcare learning environment.
With over four decades as a medical education pioneer, St. George's University has trained more than 16,000 physicians worldwide, representing over 140 countries among its students, alumni, and faculty.
SGU's Doctor of Medicine (MD) program provides international career opportunities, holding accreditation from multiple regulatory bodies. Its standards align with those of the Liaison Committee on Medical Education, which accredits US and Canadian medical schools.
