We welcome applications for doctoral research in environmental sciences, focusing on environmental transformation and governance.

Our work examines the evolution of ecological systems over extended periods. We generate insights about terrestrial surface dynamics and the mechanisms shaping their composition and operations. Additionally, we investigate anthropogenic influences on these systems and their implications for sustainable stewardship.

Our department operates within the School of Geography, Politics and Sociology. Successful candidates will join a vibrant research network comprising approximately 200 social science scholars. Our research maintains exceptional scholarly standards with global relevance, while actively engaging in societal discourse and policy development.
