Physician Associates serve as vital members of healthcare teams, representing an innovative position within the NHS framework.
These medical professionals receive comprehensive general medical training, collaborating closely with physicians, general practitioners, and surgeons to deliver patient care as essential components of multidisciplinary teams.
Operating as dependent practitioners, PAs work under the guidance of designated consultants or GP supervisors while also demonstrating independent practice capabilities when properly supported.
Though not medical doctors, PAs apply the medical model in their practice, utilizing their expertise to provide complete patient care in coordination with medical teams across both hospital and community settings.
Physician Associates practice within established supervisory parameters.
Our MSc in Physician Associate Studies equips students for the National Physician Associate certification examination, with successful completion enabling graduates to practice as qualified Physician Associates.
