As a leading training hub for future cancer researchers, we bring together clinicians, scientists, and students united by one goal: enhancing treatment results for cancer patients.
Our team and postgraduate scholars operate within either the Faculty of Medical Sciences or the School of Natural and Environmental Sciences. The NICR includes the Newcastle Cancer Centre, representing an exceptional partnership between Cancer Research UK and the North of England Children's Cancer Research Fund.
Our research spans a wide range:
investigating biological distinctions between healthy and cancerous cells
examining molecular variations between normal and malignant cells
applying these insights to create novel cancer treatments
We serve as a key training center for upcoming cancer researchers. Our Institute explores diverse aspects of cancer research, such as:
solid tumors and blood cancers, pediatric and adult malignancies, pharmaceutical development and initial clinical testing
