This four-year Linguistics program with Chinese or Japanese focuses on deepening your comprehension of language mechanics, human communication, and cognitive language development.
You'll examine linguistic principles through the lens of English alongside either Chinese or Japanese. The curriculum establishes a robust foundation for diverse career opportunities.
Depending on your proficiency, you'll begin studying your chosen language at an appropriate level, from introductory to advanced. Developing fluency in Mandarin Chinese or Japanese while exploring linguistics offers distinctive insights into language structure.
During your third year, you'll experience complete cultural immersion in China or Japan. This intensive exposure will enhance your linguistic abilities, boost confidence, and provide authentic understanding of the language in its natural setting.

ABB. We welcome candidates with an A Level in Psychology, Sociology, Maths, or other Science.
International Baccalaureate
A minimum of 32 points. Candidates who have some background in Maths and Science may be interested in the cognitive/brain science and quantitative elements of the course. Candidates who prefer Arts and Humanities subjects may be interested in the historical, sociological, and literary elements of the course.
IELTS - Applicants whose first language is not English require a minimum score of IELTS 7.0 or equivalent including 6.0 in writing, and 5.5 in all other sub-skills
TOEFL iBT - 100 overall (with a minimum of 17 in listening, 18 in reading, 20 in speaking, and 20 in Writing)
