This program integrates fundamental studies in criminology and forensic psychology with elective courses covering subjects like drug-related issues, international crime and conflict, law enforcement, terrorism, and key criminal justice institutions. The curriculum is offered through the Criminology and Sociology Department in the School of Law, with forensic psychology components taught by specialists in criminological psychology.
Particularly suited for individuals without prior psychology degrees but with a strong interest in psychological approaches to crime and justice systems. Every instructor contributes research-based insights directly into their course instruction.
Participants can enroll in criminology courses at our European partner universities through Erasmus funding opportunities.
Middlesex University master's students gain from distinguished guest speaker sessions. Previous years included court observations to enhance understanding of psychological-legal judicial processes and prison visits to study inmate demographics and rehabilitation initiatives. While physical visits are unavailable for 2020-21, the program will feature virtual expert lectures covering offender rehabilitation, gang dynamics, policing strategies, prisoner support systems, and forensic psychology applications.
