The Foundation Year in Computing and Engineering serves as an introductory pathway for students who currently don't meet the academic criteria for direct entry into computing or design engineering degree programs. This four-year integrated course begins with a foundational year where you'll explore how various individuals and organizations utilize computing systems while building core competencies in software development and hardware fundamentals. You'll also strengthen your mathematical, statistical, and communication abilities.
Successful completion of this preparatory year guarantees your advancement into any of our three-year undergraduate programs. Our foundation year students demonstrate exceptional progression rates and often emerge as top-performing graduates.
This foundation year is ideal if:
you lack the formal qualifications for direct degree entry
you need additional academic preparation before starting degree-level work
you're returning to education and want to refresh your learning skills before undergraduate studies.
Program duration: 1 year foundation + 3 years degree study (full-time).
