The MA/MFA in Contemporary Curating examines curatorial practices within modern culture, engaging with interconnected creative fields and theoretical perspectives while placing them within historical and critical frameworks. This program investigates diverse curatorial challenges related to exhibition formats and creation processes, as well as how we conceptualize spaces of production through our combined research and practice-based methodology.
A key focus of the course is the evolving dynamic between artists, institutions, curators, and critics/writers, particularly emphasizing how curatorial culture has reshaped our understanding of creativity through its practices and surrounding dialogues. Additionally, the program considers how curatorial approaches can extend to different knowledge formats, including publications, symposiums, events, and artistic interventions.
