The Museums and Galleries in Education MA merges scholarly research with hands-on professional training in cultural institutions, examining both current and historical educational approaches within museum settings. This degree fosters global partnerships in the museum studies discipline, bridging academic and professional spheres. Participants engage in both applied and conceptual explorations of museum education. While core classes occur on campus, instruction also takes place at various collections, from local to national levels. Students enjoy adaptable access to heritage locations, and those selecting the Dissertation: Work Placement option complete a 21-day research internship at a museum, gallery, or historic site.

You will normally be required to have an upper second-class Bachelor's degree in an arts, humanities or science-related subject from a UK university, or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard, together with professional or voluntary experience in museums, galleries or heritage sites.
