Leveraging our globally acclaimed research in social, cultural, political, and economic geography, our human geography program is crafted to deepen your insight into both the origins and potential remedies for today's most pressing global issues. You'll explore theoretical frameworks and methodologies to analyze the dynamic interplay between society and spatial relationships, gaining tools to interpret geographical phenomena. Spanning historical contexts to future projections, and local transformations to worldwide patterns, you'll develop a comprehensive perspective on human-environment interactions. At Manchester Met, you'll master qualitative research methods—not just studying concepts but applying them in real-world settings, both within Manchester's urban landscape and further afield. The curriculum offers specialized tracks in environmental sustainability and Geographic Information Systems, culminating in your final year. You can opt for a four-year pathway to expand your experience through an industry placement or international study opportunity in your third year.
