During our Education Foundation Year, you'll examine these and additional questions through various academic lenses. By applying sociological and psychological frameworks, you'll reflect on your personal educational journey and childhood experiences. Our goal is to create an engaging, collaborative learning environment. This preparatory year serves as an introduction to contemporary educational discussions and challenges. You'll cultivate self-awareness of your abilities and knowledge while gaining confidence in higher education settings. With guidance from a personal tutor, you'll explore fundamental concepts in education, early childhood development, and prepare for undergraduate studies.
Career opportunities
After successfully finishing your foundation year, you can advance to either the BA (Hons) Education or BA (Hons) Early Years and Childhood degree programs.
Graduates can pursue diverse paths within the education field, including roles in community youth services or educational programming in cultural institutions. Alternative career options might involve educational publishing or public sector positions. Some students choose to continue their academic journey through postgraduate studies.
For those aspiring to teach, completing a PGCE or alternative teacher training program (typically a one-year course) will be necessary.
