As one of four Royal Academy of Engineering recognized Centres of Excellence in Sustainable Building Design, the School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering hosts a dynamic community comprising over 60 faculty members, 40 technical and administrative staff, and more than 240 active researchers including fellows, associates, assistants, engineers, and PhD candidates. Research forms the cornerstone of our mission to push knowledge boundaries and improve lives. Our institution stands as a globally renowned hub for integrated built environment research and education. Much of our research output is developed collaboratively with industry partners to ensure tangible global impacts on built environments. In partnership with industry leaders, our research spans diverse areas including civil infrastructure engineering, smart transportation, construction digitalization, water and waste solutions, as well as building energy efficiency and indoor environmental quality.
