The MA in Contemporary Literature and Culture is a dynamic program offering insights into modern literary works and cultural expressions.
Students explore diverse media formats, from written works to digital platforms, theater, cinema, and broadcast media, examining how they define our current era and its cultural landscape.
Coursework addresses theoretical and cultural reactions to modern-day challenges and movements influencing society, including environmental crises, racial justice initiatives, gender equality, economic globalization, digital advancements, migration patterns, political extremism, and global health emergencies. A unique emphasis is placed on how publishing trends, literary awards, and marketing tactics influence today's literary scene and its ideological underpinnings.
This program equips participants with practical expertise through an engaging core course where students collaborate to organize and host a literature festival during the summer session. The degree concludes with each student independently researching and composing a final thesis on a self-selected subject.
