The BSc in Geography and Sport Science is a combined degree program designed to deepen your insight into how natural and societal forces shape our evolving world, while simultaneously advancing your expertise in sports science.
Each academic year equally divides your studies between both disciplines, with the option to investigate their interconnection through an elective dissertation in your final year.
Geography
During the initial year of our BSc (Hons) Geography and Sport Science program, geography coursework covers both human and physical geography, providing foundational knowledge of how societal and environmental processes interact across different locations. In subsequent years, you may choose to focus on either human or physical geography, or continue with an even split between both fields.
Our Geography and Environment department features faculty members who are pioneering research in both geographical disciplines while influencing policy decisions at national and global levels. This ensures your education remains at the forefront of scientific discovery and addresses contemporary societal challenges.
Sports Science
This program also equips you with comprehensive theoretical, analytical, and applied knowledge of sports science, guided by one of the UK's premier institutions for sport and exercise studies. The sports science curriculum emphasizes physiology, health and physical activity, psychological aspects, social dimensions, and teaching methodologies. The competencies gained through the sports science component of this dual degree prepare graduates for diverse professional paths in sports, health, and education sectors.
