The School of Arts and Creative Industries provides an excellent environment for PhD studies. You'll become part of a dynamic, close-knit community of doctoral researchers, guided by world-renowned academics. Our PhD candidates frequently collaborate on conference organization, contribute to academic publications as editors, and spearhead research-focused events and symposiums.
Our practical research addresses contemporary challenges through diverse methodologies, ranging from practice-led investigations to audience studies and theoretical examinations. We support projects across multiple disciplines and encourage innovative proposals. In the latest assessment, 80% of our research achieved a 3-star rating for impact, demonstrating extensive influence and importance. The department houses two specialized Research Centers: the Networked Image Research Center and the Creative Technologies Research Center. Our faculty members are engaged in pioneering research across various fields including performance arts, museum studies, cultural policy, digital cultures, visual media, and journalism.
