Mechanical engineers operate across nearly every industry imaginable, including energy, transportation, aerospace, robotics, pharmaceuticals, and automotive or maritime sectors. Their work centers on engineering technology, creating innovative methods and equipment to address practical challenges. Students can also choose to specialize through an Advanced Vehicle Engineering track. A mechanical engineering degree opens doors to diverse career paths.

This program emphasizes hands-on learning with extensive workshop participation. You'll gain practical experience in our virtual engineering lab and with cutting-edge 3D printing technology. Your final year will feature an individual 'design-make-test' project mirroring real-world engineering challenges. The accredited curriculum puts students on track for Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, equipping graduates with valuable skills and knowledge while connecting them to a department known for excellent career outcomes.

Our students consistently earn national and international recognition, with Mechanical Engineering and Advanced Vehicle Engineering students recently winning competitions like The Engineering Club's Sketches Prize and IMechE's Best Project award. By joining our program, you're becoming part of a high-achieving community that boosts employment opportunities.
