A PhD program focuses entirely on research. Your individual research project will be uniquely developed under the supervision of at least two faculty members who specialize in your chosen field.
You can undertake PhD research in any discipline offered by the University, provided there's adequate expertise to support your project. Interdisciplinary research is encouraged. The University offers a structured support system for research students, with regular progress monitoring. Distance learning options for PhD studies are also available at London Met.
Earning a PhD involves making an original academic contribution. This demands comprehensive knowledge of existing literature in your field, strong analytical abilities to evaluate research findings, self-motivation, and significant time commitment.
While the program doesn't include formal coursework, you'll receive research methodology training and may attend relevant master's level classes. Additionally, you can pursue a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education alongside your research work.
