This bachelor's program is delivered in our state-of-the-art £30 million Science Centre and provides diverse specialization choices such as bioinformatics, molecular modeling, systems pathology, and virology. You'll develop comprehensive knowledge of health and disease mechanisms through scientific study. Given the high demand for medical bioscience professionals, this program prepares graduates for roles in research institutions, public health laboratories, forensic analysis units, and pharmaceutical companies. The curriculum also includes an optional 15-week industry placement.
As you train to become a medical bioscientist, you'll examine both medical and biological sciences to enhance your comprehension of human wellbeing. Coursework in areas like molecular modeling and pharmacology demonstrates how theoretical concepts translate into practical applications for combating illnesses.
Your initial year covers fundamental scientific principles across anatomy, biology, biochemistry, and physiology. Advanced studies allow specialization through engaging modules like bioinformatics (creating tools for biological data analysis) and medical genetics (investigating inherited conditions).
