This integrated BSc in Criminology and Policing equips you for professional roles in the criminal justice field, including policing, research, or youth services.

Led by experienced former law enforcement professionals and globally recognized scholars, the program provides comprehensive grounding in both criminology and policing. You'll examine connections between criminal theory, offenses, and victims, with particular focus on UK policing methods.

The curriculum covers essential criminological principles and analyzes key institutions within the justice system, such as courts, law enforcement agencies, correctional facilities, and probation services.

This program positions you at the cutting edge of modern criminology and policing practice. Through our partnerships with organizations like Essex Police and the Metropolitan Police, we bring in criminal justice professionals who share insights from actual cases and relevant subject matter. You'll also participate in panel discussions featuring faculty members, probation officers, former offenders, and police personnel in a dynamic debate format.

Our instruction incorporates current case analyses and hands-on exercises that develop your ability to assess and interpret crime data using both qualitative and quantitative research approaches. During your second and third years, you can specialize in particular criminology and policing areas through diverse modules covering subjects like counterterrorism, victim studies, and repeat offenders.

We prioritize career readiness by offering practical work placements to develop job-specific skills. Our faculty, with their extensive professional networks, will guide you through various career pathways in the justice sector.
