Specialists in disaster and emergency management serve a vital function in mitigating the effects of human, technological, and environmental crises. These experts collaborate with various stakeholders to rapidly evaluate affected situations and communities, providing guidance on response efforts, recovery plans, and long-term prevention approaches. This interdisciplinary program incorporates elements from technology, physical sciences, engineering, sociology, and geography. Significant focus is placed on hands-on training—from simulated emergency drills to lab work and real-world disaster management exercises, both domestically (with Outreach Rescue) and internationally through two compulsory field modules. Final costs for required international trips will be announced later; applicants should check this page for updates. The curriculum prepares students with essential skills to recognize, evaluate, address, and recover from diverse emergency scenarios while developing confidence for careers in operational, policy, and leadership roles.
