Instruction takes place in our state-of-the-art £30 million Science Centre, featuring over 280 advanced workstations, where you'll acquire practical skills alongside analytical methods including UV and infrared spectroscopy.
Our teaching faculty frequently includes industry specialists and active researchers, with opportunities for professional experience available through our placement program.
The initial year of undergraduate study focuses on core principles of physical, inorganic, and organic chemistry, laying the foundation for future exploration of forensic, pharmaceutical, medical, and analytical sciences. As you advance through the program, you'll delve deeper into practical and technical chemistry applications while having the flexibility to concentrate on preferred areas like forensic chemistry or bioanalytical science.
During your final year, you'll conduct an extended research project on a chemistry-related topic of your choice. The degree also offers the possibility of completing an industry placement, providing crucial practical exposure and professional experience.
