Our Law (including foundation year) BA is a four-year program designed to support students who don't meet the entry criteria for the standard three-year law degree. The initial foundation year equips you with the essential skills needed for undergraduate legal studies.
You'll explore modules that enhance your analytical abilities, academic writing, and study techniques. A dedicated law component covers core legal concepts, rights and obligations in our justice system, and how legal processes function. The program also includes educational visits to legal establishments.
This foundation pathway prepares you for professions requiring legal knowledge across various sectors like business, government, public service, and nonprofit organizations.
You'll benefit from ongoing academic guidance and career advice from tutors and mentors. Specialized workshops will help refine your interview techniques, writing abilities, and analytical skills.
The foundation year emphasizes developing academic competencies through examining contemporary social issues from multiple perspectives. You'll investigate themes involving media, criminal justice, and societal diversity while practicing critical analysis, research methods, and academic writing. The Year 0 law module provides grounding in legal fundamentals, systemic operations, and civic responsibilities. The curriculum incorporates visits to legal institutions as part of your learning experience.
