We invite applications from individuals pursuing PhD research opportunities.

The Statistics PhD is a three-year program designed for candidates with significant statistical expertise who are prepared to initiate independent research projects.

Our Statistics Group focuses on creating innovative statistical models and techniques driven by real-world applications, particularly in environmental, biomedical, and social sciences. Key methodological strengths encompass stochastic modeling, computational methods, time series analysis, extreme value statistics, clinical trial design, nonparametric regression, functional data analysis, and statistical learning. We emphasize bridging theoretical and practical applications, maintaining strong collaborative ties with university departments, healthcare institutions, pharmaceutical firms, and research organizations both in the UK and internationally.

Doctoral candidates will receive personalized supervision while contributing to research in their selected field, complemented by specialized training courses for skill enhancement. Additionally, students may gain valuable teaching experience and supplemental income by serving as teaching assistants in our academic programs.
