Nuclear technology spans diverse fields including medical diagnostics and radiation therapy, energy production, defense systems, and facility dismantling. The sector is projected to grow significantly in the coming decade. With an anticipated global investment of approximately 930 billion for constructing new reactors and 250 billion for retiring aging ones, the UK nuclear industry alone could create up to 40,000 new employment opportunities.
Your academic journey starts with a foundational year, where you'll complete core modules shared across all engineering disciplines. This initial phase provides comprehensive exposure to fundamental engineering principles and competencies. After this common year, you'll chart your educational path, with options to specialize in Nuclear Engineering or transition to any of our other focused degree tracks.

Mathematics SL grade 7 (Analysis and Approaches) plus HL grade 6 in a Physical Science
Acceptable physical science subjects include Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, and Design Technology.
BTEC (Pre-2016 specifications): Distinction, Distinction, Distinction in an Engineering related subject to include Distinctions in Mathematics for Engineering Technicians and Further Mathematics for Engineering Technicians units.
