Lancaster's Theatre and English Literature program allows you to examine modern drama, theatrical performance, and literary works ranging from Shakespeare to contemporary 21st century texts. The theatre component operates within Lancaster Institute for the Contemporary Arts (LICA), a dynamic creative hub with outstanding resources. Our English and Creative Writing Department provides both classical and cutting-edge approaches to literary studies.

In English Literature, you'll analyze diverse texts across historical periods and styles while gaining critical insights into literature's societal role.
