This program combines two closely related disciplines where UEA has established exceptional recognition. You'll learn from internationally renowned experts while studying influential authors and literary traditions alongside a diverse spectrum of global cinema.

Your first year provides foundational knowledge in both subjects. During your second and third years, you'll focus more intensively on the areas that interest you most.

Options include creative pathways like filmmaking or screenwriting, alongside modules exploring varied themes - from Hollywood's golden age to Gothic fiction and Shakespearean drama. You might also examine how literature transforms for the screen, creating exciting connections between your dual subjects.

Our Film, Television and Media Studies department ranks among the top institutions for researching British and American cinema, popular media genres, and feminist media studies.
